The service is one of just six teams shortlisted for the ‘Large Team of the Year’ award, selected from over 200 entries nationwide. This recognition highlights the team’s commitment to delivering innovative and impactful programmes that help ȫ��̽�� residents develop skills, access training, and secure employment.

From supporting young people and adults into work to empowering businesses with a skilled workforce, the service plays a vital role in ȫ��̽��’s economy.

Councillor Adam Kent, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Skills and Economy at ȫ��̽�� County Council, said: “It’s encouraging to see our Skills & Employability team recognised as a finalist in these awards. The Skills & Employability Service collaborates with national and county partners to maximise funding and opportunities, ensuring residents benefit from high-quality skills, training, and employment support.

The LGC Awards 2025 now move to the final judging stage, with winners announced at a ceremony at Grosvenor House, London, on 11 June 2025.
