This No Smoking Day, Wednesday, 12 March 2025, is the perfect opportunity to quit smoking for good.

Quitting smoking is the best thing you can do for your health. When you stop smoking, there are almost immediate improvements to your health.

It’s never too late to quit smoking. Even if you’ve tried quitting before, give it another go this No Smoking Day.

It’s much easier to stop smoking when you get the right support and there’s no need to go it alone.

In ȫ̽ there is support to quit smoking with our stop smoking service, available to any adult who lives in ȫ̽ or is registered with a GP in the county.

Councillor David Ross, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing at ȫ̽ County Council said: With the right support, it is achievable to give up smoking. Our stop smoking services are available to everyone in ȫ̽, offering personalised support to help you succeed. There’s never been a better time to quit in ȫ̽.”

Everyone's journey to quit smoking is unique, so we offer personalised support from specialist advisors, free vape starter kit, a customised action plan, and assistance with any challenges you might encounter.

For families, the Smoke Free Homes service provides even more support including Nicotine replacement therapy and up to 12 weeks of contact from a stop smoking advisor. It is available to parents, carers, and any adult living with a child under 19.

As over 80% of cigarette smoke is invisible, quitting is the best way to protect your loved ones from the dangers of second-hand smoke.

If you're pregnant, additional support is available to help you quit smoking.
